Sunday 14th Feb 2016
Today, we welcomed 3 visitors – Rennie, Gill and Sam – from Eco-Congregation Scotland, visiting us to assess our application for a first Eco-Award. They joined us for worship, had a coffee and chat in the hall, were taken on a tour of our premises, then met with a representative group of the congregation to ask us about what we had done over the last few years. We discussed many topics, including PV panels, CCF funding, the Eco-Noticeboard, communications, outreach to the community, strengths, weaknesses, plans for the future and much else. After a 10 minute private discussion, the came back to congratulate us on achieving our first award! Watch this space for more details of their report and a picture of our commemorative plaque.
- FairTrade Brunch February 14, 2016admin
Sunday 14th February 2016
Today’s service was led by a group of elders, focussing on “Love in Action”. We read from Psalm 136 – thanking God for his love. Louise helped us all – adults and children alike – to see that Jesus’ superpower is love, and that we are called to love like He does. We thought about Love in Action in our community (eg Foodbank), Love in Action in the world (eg Fairtrade), and Love in Action in the Environment.
After the service, around 30 folk enjoyed a FairTrade/local produce brunch in the hall.
