Minsteracres Retreat weekend – May 2018

Two ladies from Selkirk Baptist Church joined our mixed group of fourteen from the Parish Church for the weekend away on the theme Sacred Journey at Minsteracres retreat centre in County Durham.

“How did it go?”, we were asked when we got back.

Here are the single words used by nine different people during one of the retreat sessions to describe our experience: sunshine, wonder, gentleness, joyous,
encouraging, heartening, fellowship, enlightened, peaceful.

Words that came up again and again during the Minsteracres-led input were:
awareness – awareness of God in ordinary things;
connectedness – we are connected to God, to each other and to Nature; and mystery.
