Sunday Gang

SundayGangChildren are welcome at all our services. We hope you can come and join us.

We meet at the service at 10.15am and after a short while in church, we go out to the hall for bible stories and activities and normally return at the end of the service to share what we have been doing.

All ages welcome from babes in arms upwards.

If you have any questions regarding Sunday Gang, please do not hesitate to contact me.   Look forward to seeing you soon.

Parents with very young children may use the “meeting house” at the back of the church if children become restless. There is comfortable seating there, with some toys, and the service is relayed through.

    Children and Families Worker

    Our vision …
At Selkirk Parish Church, we feel called to strengthen our out-reach efforts to the families in our area by employing a paid Children and Families worker.
We have seen that there is a growing need to support and listen to children and their parents in our local area, and we have developed good connections to do so. We feel called to do more to help these families to acquire the confidence, skills, resources, faith, point of contact and resilience to enhance their lives.
Ultimately, we have a vision of supporting and drawing families in the area into our fellowship, to become part of our wider church family of care.
Here’s what we want to do …
To enable this vision to happen requires a concerted effort that is beyond the ability of our current team of volunteers.
We would, therefore, like to employ a Children and Families worker to bolster and strengthen our current activities and develop fresh approaches.
To employ a part-time children and families worker for an initial 3-year period, we will need to raise around £35,000 over 3 years.
While we may be able to get some of this from grants, most of the cost must come from within the congregation.
That is why we are inviting you to become a financial supporter of our vision to reach out to families in our local area.

    Taste and See Christmas Party
The Taste and See team led the worship on Sunday 18th December. Active worship involved the whole congregations, with video, songs, readings, interviews, and the shepherds arriving by bike! After the service and coffee, 23 children and a good few adults enjoyed some party games followed by party food – thanks to all who organised the food and fun.
